Power Balance Bands Are Fashionable And Interesting To Wear
Power Balance is a distinct make of wristband that was produced with a rubber band with a holographic sticker applied. The idea behind the device was that it would provide energy and good balance to anyone who wore it through the use of hologram therapy, which is part of energy medicine. Particularly this therapy is used to enhance athletic performance.
The hologram therapy has exploded in popularity as alternative holistic medical techniques have taken hold. Individuals who use them fervently think that they're receiving special powers from the holistic, spiritual therapy. The practice has brought on concern with many governments regarding truth in marketing and advertising. They have required that tests be run to back up the claims, otherwise fines would be levied against the manufacturer.
The controversy over Power Balance wristbands grew as more and more well-known sports athletes became proponents. In 2010, tests were run during the Olympics using a double blind test to find out if the holograms were truly providing special energy and stability that would enhance the performance of the athletes. On two of the bands, the sticker was removed and all bands were taped so nobody would know which ones contained the holograms.
The tests were conclusive in that none of the athletes wearing the hologram devices was able to enhance their performance anymore compared to those which were putting on the bands which had the stickers removed. In Australia, the buyer protection commission required Power Balance to issue a statement admitting they had supplied misleading information regarding the performance enhancement abilities.
While the tests proved definitive to skeptics that simply wearing holographic items would not enhance a person’s performance, the problem remains the red hot issue because the idea behind the products are related to a person’s spiritual values.
There have been tests done regarding player improving performance as well, with results that showed that hard work was the reason for the enhanced amounts of overall performance. Since the tests were designed to test if the hologram itself provided the performance, a disagreement can be created that the tests were skewed against the Power Balance wristband because it wasn't tested by spiritual believers. As with tests of the power of prayer, the results often show improvements because those involved believe in the activity and its power.
The case of the Powerbalance and hologram treatments are bound to remain marked by controversy, particularly since several high profile players and famous people wear holographic jewelry very publicly. The issue over promoting as a system that will improve strength, flexibility and stability is apparently settled for now.
There are two basic camps, people that believe and those that don't. Even though this design of alternative energy treatments are usually viewed as on the edge, there has to be something to it since so many people subscribe to its power and freely admit to wearing the jewelry for the therapeutic purposes.
