what is the basic Muay Thai kick called?
I'm talking about the roundhouse performed with the shin. Is there a special muay thai name for it? Also, what do you call that same kick, but executed with the front leg.
It it generally referred to as a roundhouse kick but in Thai it may be known by the name "Tae Tud" (เตะตัด).
In regards to the same kick but with the front leg, in that case you are performing a completely different kick and this is not really a part of the Muay Thai arsenal, because in order to kick with your front let without first taking the front leg back you would need to snap at the knee to inflict any damage or even initiate contact, this is a Karate or Tae Kwon Do kick and not common in Muay Thai.
