Okey dokey, here's the deal: I need to get a set of sparring gear for my own personal use and my karate class. Since I am very new to karate, I have no idea what to get in terms of sparring gear in terms of material (foam, vinyl, cloth..), and brand. Here's what pieces I would prefer the set to have:
* Shin and instep guard
* hand and forearm guard
* head protector
(no need for mouth piece, already have one, and just a hand protector in place of the forearm and hand guard is ok if a combo guard cannot be found)
So...any thoughts, comments, ....your life stories? Ty in advance pplz!
P.S Btw, my sensei said it doesn't have to be exactly like the ones used in the dojo.

For instep guards, I really like the cloth ones. They feel a lot less intrusive, but they still protect you. The foam and vinyl ones feel so heavy, where the cloth ones you kind of forget they're there.
